‘Train children to become entrepreneurs’

The Deputy Director of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr Seth Akwaboah, has urged stakeholders in education to include entrepreneurship development at the early stage of children’s education. 

He pointed out that the challenge of unemployment in the country could be reduced when children were trained to set up their own businesses.

“Through proper education, children can grow to be their own bosses and not rely on the government for jobs,” he noted.
Mr Akwaboah made the comments when he addressed students and guests at the fifth graduation ceremony of Paula Eve’s School at Chantan in Accra.

It was on the theme: “Learning, the key to success in life.”

The Director of Education, Ga Central Municipal Assembly, Ms Denise Diamond Oyeh, also stressed on the need for students to take citizenship education seriously.

With regard to the school’s academic performance, the Director of Paula Eve’s School, Mr Aaron Akwaboah, noted that students had made strides in the previous Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

He added, “we are confident that in spite of the re-sit of some subjects in the just-ended BECE, the 2015 year group would perform even better.”

He wished the BECE graduates the best in life as they move on to the next stage of their academic pursuits.

Twenty-four students who wrote the BECE graduated, while 31 Kindergarten (KG) Two pupils moved on to Primary Class One.
