Two sisters assist orphanage

Two former pupils of the Christ The King School, Karen and Keona Dordor, have visited the Save Them Young Mission, at Ashaiman to interact and present various items to the children there.

The items presented included clothes, toys, drinks and biscuits.

According to Karen and Keona, who grew up in Ghana but are currently studying in the United States of America, they are aware of the great number of underprivileged children in some parts of the country that was why they stepped in to help.

‘We felt the need to help to make a difference in our community and to touch the lives of children who are just like us to enjoy their childhood,’ they said.

The pupils were welcomed by the children at the orphanage with melodious songs and after interacting with them for a while, the sisters shared the items among the children.

They praised the director and mothers of the orphanage for the good work they were doing for the children.

‘The happy faces of the children taught us not to take small things for granted. We encourage the youth and other individuals to make a difference in their communities and greatly benefit from the experience,’ they said.

Karen and Keona expressed the hope to be back to spend more time with the children.

The children at the orphanage thanked the two sisters for the gifts and the visit.
