Accra Hearts of Oak have signed national U-23 goalkeeper, Richard Ayi, to beef up their squad ahead of the 2018/2019 Ghana Premier League.

Ayi, 21, joined the Phobians from premiership side, West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), after successful negotiations between the two clubs.

A statement released by Hearts on Friday and signed by the Communications Manager, Kwame Opare Addo, read: “The management of Accra Hearts of Oak is delighted to announce the signing of promising goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi, on a long term deal.”

The statement continued: “Everyone at Hearts of Oak welcomes him to the Phobian family and wishes him the very best of luck in his new adventure, knowing that he will go on to do great things for this great Football Club.

The management would like to ask for the continuous support and cooperation of all stakeholders to make the club successful.”

Ayi is one of the promising talents in Ghana. His exploits at WAFA has earned him a place in the national Under-23 team.

While with Techiman City, the young goalkeeper won multiple Man-of-the-Match awards during the 2015/2016 league season.
