
Peter Boamah Otokunor expresses gratitude for Presidential appointment
Agricultural Economist Peter Boamah Otokunor has extended his appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing him as the Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Presidency.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Otokunor expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the new role and pledged to contribute his expertise and energy toward achieving the President’s vision of resetting the country.
"I want to express my deepest heartfelt gratitude to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for this rare opportunity to serve in his government as the Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Presidency," he stated.
"I promise to commit every bit of my knowledge, skills, experience, and energy to this new role to deliver on his vision. And thanks to all the comrades, party folks, and well-wishers for the best wishes. Akpe kaka! ‘Ny3yi Waladon’!! Medaase!" he added.

Mr Otokunor is a chartered financial economist, policy analyst, and lecturer with extensive experience in agriculture, economics, and governance.
A staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he previously served as the party's Deputy General Secretary and also held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority.
His appointment is expected to drive key agricultural and agribusiness initiatives under President Mahama’s administration, aimed at boosting food security, modernising agriculture, and creating sustainable jobs in the sector.
