
Drive to Inspire Africa touts achievement at annual fundraiser
A non-profit organisation, Drive to Inspire Africa (DTI-A) has held its Empowering Futures: 2024 Impact Report and Annual Fundraiser in Accra, highlighting its achievements in youth empowerment through mentorship, education and personal development.
The event brought together dignitaries, corporate sponsors and volunteers in support of the organisation’s vision of shaping confident and capable African leaders.
As part of the event, a video presentation showcased the DTI-A’s impact, including outreach programmes that reached over 11,000 students across the country in 2024, with notable engagements such as a partnership with the Nneka Youth Foundation which benefited 1,500 students at the World Changes Summer Camp in the Volta Region.
The organisation also extended its reach to tertiary education through a collaboration with the University of Ghana (UG) SRC.

However, the highlight of the event was the presentation of scholarships to 17 outstanding students, dubbed the “Select 17,” who were chosen based on academic excellence, leadership, community service, financial need and moral character.
Awards
Representatives for various sponsors including Cyprus Energy, Devtraco Group, Serene Insurance, GH Express Transport Services, Golden Coast Developers, Nguvu Mining, the St Michael’s Specialist Hospital, Trasacco Group and Africa Legal Associates, presented laptops and scholarship awards to the deserving recipients.
The students, from schools including the Oguaa Senior High Technical School, the Ebenezer Senior High School, the Achimota Senior High School and Okuapeman Senior High School, were congratulated and encouraged to strive for excellence.
Collective effort
The founder of DTI-A, Nana Adjoa Hackman, paid tribute to the volunteers who had been instrumental in the organisation’s success and emphasised the importance of collective effort in empowering young people.
Among the celebrated volunteers were Ansabea Addae Anomh, Elvis Crystal, Prince Amorin, Ivy Obeng and Barry Musa.
A partner at KPMG, Mr Kwame Sarpong Barnieh, in presenting the accountability report, stressed the importance of accountability.
He commended the organisation’s vision and highlighted the KPMG's role as an accountability partner, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial oversight and the integrity of the scholarship programme.
The fundraiser concluded with a call for continued support through sponsorships, volunteering and partnerships.
