Shakul Samed calls out Delali Miledzi for showdown
Olympian Shakul Samed has called out Delali Miledzi for a super middleweight showdown in what could be one of the keenly-contested bouts of the year.
Samed (3-0, 2 KOs) believes he has what it takes to face experienced Miledzi (17-1, 13 KOs) in response to the latter’s call to fight with his senior brother Bastie Samir.
Miledzi, a former national super middleweight champion, had called out Samir, the elder brother of Samed for a slugfest but was met with a response from the younger brother who prefers to face him instead.
“Delali is nowhere in the class of Bastie so if it's someone in the Samir family he wants to fight, young Shakul is ready to step in and do the job for his elder brother.
“Bring it on Team Delali Miledzi, we are ready for you today," Samed said.
Samed turned pro in March and won his debut fight against Francis Akakpo in the Ghana Professional Boxing League II.
The 24-year-old was banned at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham for taking a banned substance and apologised to his father, family, fans and Ghanaians.
Samed, a member of Akotoku Boxing Academy, represented Ghana at several international competitions, including African Games.
