Oteng Gyasi resigns as ECG board chair

The board chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Tony Oteng Gyasi has resigned from his position.
According to a report on Citi FM, Mr Oteng Gyasi’s resignation was confirmed by a source within government.
The report said Mr Oteng Gyasi tendered in his resignation letter last week but the President was yet to respond to it.
It said Mr Oteng Gyasi who is also the Managing Director of Tropical Cables and Conductors Limited cited health reasons for his resignation.

Mr Oteng Gyasi was appointed as ECG board chairman exactly a year ago in September 2013.
His resignation comes at a time when the power sector is going through challenges.
