Lordina Foundation extends support to four health facilities

The Lordina Foundation has extended its charity work to four more health facilities in the Ashanti Region.

The beneficiary hospitals are the Ejura and Juaso government hospitals, Ejisu Hospital and the Bomfa Achiase Health Centre.

The Foundation presented medical equipment, including hospital beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, breathing circuits and consumables to the four hospitals.

Already the foundation has presented medical supplies to three hospitals in the region namely the St Patrick Hospital at Offinso, Manso Nkwanta and the Mampong hospitals.

 

The latest presentation brings to seven the number of health facilities which have so far benefited from the Lordina Foundation in the region during the second half of this year.

Presenting the items, the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, gave the assurance that the foundation would continue to support vulnerable communities, especially women and children across the country.

She said it was her conviction that health personnel should be provided with logistics, equipment and medical supplies to enhance their capability of fulfilling their obligations to their patients.

 

Health awareness

Mrs Mahama said the goal of the Lordina Foundation was to increase health awareness and to support the government to achieve its vision of extending health services to all.

She said in collaboration with its partners, Medshare of USA, the foundation had so far provided medical equipment, supplies and logistics to medical facilities in several regions of Ghana.

The First Lady commended the health workers for their hard work and dedication.

“As head of the Lordina Foundation, I have embarked on a journey to support hospitals and health workers with these equipment and hospital supplies to enable them to give of their best with the objective of supporting improved healthcare delivery in Ghana,” she said.

She indicated that the medical supplies were aimed at enhancing the efforts of the government to attain universal health provision for Ghanaians and urged the health workers to lead the way in the delivery of quality and safe health services in the country.

The First Lady expressed the hope that helping communities and caring for their health needs would become the common undertaking of all sectors, particularly corporate bodies as part of their corporate social responsibility.

The Lordina Foundation, which is the brainchild of the First Lady also advocates cervical, breast cancers and HIV/AIDS prevention.

 

Appreciation

The Medical Superintendent of the Ejura Government Hospital, Dr Manye Mensah expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the kind gesture and appealed to her to assist the hospital to complete its maternity ward to reduce congestion in the wards.
