Legon Hospital gets mother’s wing

The University of Ghana Alumni Association has cut the sod for the construction of a mother’s wing at the University of Ghana Hospital in Accra.

The project, which will be a special ward for mothers, will include a special ward for fathers who will be taking care of their children on admission at the hospital.

The chairman of the association, Mr Paa Kwesi Yankey, said the project was intended to provide accommodation and shelter for parents and guardians whose children or wards had been admitted to the hospital.

The Director of the hospital, Dr Christian Amenuveve, said the project would go a long way to help alleviate the stress that mothers go through when their children or wards were on admission.
