Graphic presents cheque for GH¢4,326 to Korle Bu
The Graphic Needy Trust Fund (GNTF) has presented a cheque for GH¢4,326.00 to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Surgical Department for the surgery of Yasmeen Naa Frimpong, a one-year-old hydrocephalous patient.
Yasmeen’s parents appealed to the GNTF for help to pay for her treatment.
Appeal for funds
An appeal for funds in the Daily Graphic attracted individuals and corporate philanthropists, who donated to the fund to help Yasmeen. She is due for surgery on April 27, 2017.
Making the presentation, the Chairman of the GNTF, Mr Emmanuel Agyei Arthur, explained that the fund was set up to help the needy to access health care.

He said the fund was, thus, independently run from the Graphic Communications Group’s account.
“It (Graphic Needy Trust Fund) has its own account, and board of trustees. Everything that goes into it is solely for needy patients,” Mr Arthur said, stressing that, “Graphic believes that health is critical to the growth and development of every society.”
He said the fund had sponsored a lot of patients to undergo surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and other hospitals.
Receiving the donation, the Chief Nursing Officer, Mrs Juliana Johnson-Gawu, thanked the GNTF for the kind gesture and appealed to the fund to take up more bills of needy children at the facility.
