Ghana strengthens security policies to address global challenges - Foreign Minister

Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fortifying security policies in response to growing international challenges.

During a diplomatic gathering at Jubilee House, hosted by President John Mahama for the annual New Year greetings exchange, Mr. Ablakwa stressed the need for a unified approach to tackling threats to global stability.

Recognizing the evolving nature of global threats, he emphasized the importance of international cooperation in establishing stronger security frameworks.

As part of Ghana’s proactive foreign policy agenda, Mr. Ablakwa announced plans to implement a Comprehensive Foreign Policy—a strategic framework designed to enhance the country’s global engagement and diplomatic effectiveness.

Additionally, he disclosed the creation of a Delivery Unit within the ministry, aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring swift responses to diplomatic issues.

Reaffirming Ghana’s dedication to multilateralism, the minister called for sustained collaboration with international partners to promote peace, economic resilience, and security. He underscored Ghana’s active role in addressing global challenges and strengthening diplomatic ties.
