Ideal College holds thanksgiving service

Ideal College has held a thanksgiving service for its students who will be writing this year’s November-December (Nov-Dec) West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The event, which was preceded by a fasting and prayer session, was the sixth since the exercise started in 2010.

Speaking at the ceremony, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Samuel Awuku, encouraged the candidates that “every set back is a set up for a come back to glory”.

“As you go into another crucial stage in your life to write your exam…I know that the Good Lord would give you retentive memory to pass the exams,” he said and wished all the candidates well.

The Director of the school, Prof. Joseph Asibu, said the students should strive and resolve that nothing was going to stop them from achieving what they wanted to achieve in life.

He warned the students to desist from negative practices such as ‘sakawa’ to make money quick since those things could destroy them for the rest of their lives.

The Public Relations Officer of the school, Mr Kyei Baffour, said the thanksgiving had been held over the years ahead of the Nov-Dec WASSCE.

The high academic performance of the school over the years, he said, was as a result of such events.
