The Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) has adopted and inaugurated the Writers and Debating Society (WDS) of the African University College of Communications (AUCC).
The inauguration which took place recently at the school’s auditorium ended with the outdooring of student authors and the launch of their books titled “Thoughts from a Selfish Mind” by Jere Wonder, “Through the Storms with Jesus” by Gina Akua Padi, “The Mind set of World Changers” by Daniel Kwaku Bostway and “Letters to our Fathers” by Mobolaji Olorisade.
In a speech, Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, President GAW and former lecturer, expressed satisfaction that among the tertiary school affiliates, the WDS of AUCC was the first to be inaugurated.
He said the affiliation of GAW and WDS was to strengthen and broaden the cause of student writers in the creative art industry and also create more opportunities for the youth.
In his closing remarks, Mr Ato Afful, the Head of Business Development and Radio Discovery, AUCC charged students not to see the event as a funfare, but rather seize the opportunity to discover more about the creative arts industry.
