Rally behind Coach Yatsuhashi — Ahinful
Former Black Stars striker, Augustine Ahinful, has appealed to supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak to rally behind newly appointed Hearts of Oak manager, Kenichi Yatsuhashi to enable him realise his ambition of restoring the club to its winning ways.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Ahinful, whose striking prowess endeared him to soccer fans in Ghana during his days with Ashgold, said considering the ambitions and determination of Kenichi Yatsuhashi, he would achieve much success for Hearts if the fans offered him the needed support.
“I believe he can accomplish every task he promised the club. You can see he showed character during the press conference, and I think from the positive way he sounded, he is going to win many silver wares for Hearts as he promised.
“If he is given all the logistics he asked from the team, I think he can do a good work for the club. Yes, he doesn’t have a rich CV for the position, but I still think he can achieve a lot for the club,” he emphasised
Explaining further, he said considering the managerial skills of Accra Hearts of Oak, they would not have appointed the coach if they had not delved into his background to know what he was capable of doing.
“Some soccer fans are expressing misgivings about the coach’s ability to carry Hearts far, but I think they have a reason for choosing Kenichi over the rest,” Ahinful noted.
Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who once coached at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, where he was in charge of both male and female teams, has signed a one-year deal with the Phobians with an option for renewal if he meets his target.
