Banku, Powers ready to rumble Friday
Popular cruiserweight fighters, Michael “Ayittey Powers” Okine and Braimah Kamoko, aka Bukom Banku, have declared their battle readiness ahead of their respective fights at the Aborigines Beach Resort at Keta this Friday.
The old foes are due to meet again at the end of the year, but ahead of that duel the two will fight different opponents on the ‘Rumble in Hogbetsotso’ bill on Friday.
Powers will fight tough customer David Okine on the night, while Bukom Banku faces off with Sylvester Allotey in another thrilling encounter.
The two bouts, being staged by Landmark Promotions, are designed to produce an electrifying atmosphere for residents of Keta to witness the explosive fisticuffs exhibited by Banku and Powers against different opponents.
The two boxers have endeared themselves to boxing fans in Accra over the years and are eager to display their boxing prowess to boxing fans who will converge on the ringside to watch them.
Interestingly, the evening will also witness the homecoming of Isaac Dogboey, who, having sojourned in the US for years, will engage hard-hitting George Krampah in a WBO Africa featherweight championship.
Dogboey, who has won two fights since returning to Ghana, will mount the ring with the sole ambition of overpowering his opponent to win the hearts of home fans.
Also on the bill on Friday will be Bukom juggernaut, Obodae Sai, who fights Gabriel Adoku in a super welterweight bout, while Patrick Allotey takes on Fuseini Ahmed in a welterweight encounter.
