Princesses close to World Cup berth
With just a final match to be played to determine their fate for the 2016 Under-20 Women's World Cup (WWC), Ghana's Black Princesses are determined not to allow this opportunity to slip by as they host Ethiopia on Sunday.
The Princesses welcome their Ethiopian counterparts to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in the final effort for one of the two tickets at stake, hoping they will be the lucky ones when the final whistle goes at the end of 90 minutes.
Two weeks ago, the Princesses returned from Adis Ababa with a 2-2 draw, a result Princesses' coach consider an advantage which they intend to further exploit in this second leg.
Already, Coach Mas-Ud Dramani has strategised how to clip the wings of influential playmaker of the Ethiopians, Loza Abera, who almost caused the Princesses heartache in Adiss Ababa when she scored a brace within 10 minutes and left the Ghanaians trailing 1-2 until Rafia Alhassan scored the equaliser.
On Sunday, the Princesses will not be taking any chances and have vowed to go all out to earn early goals and possibly wrap their qualification early and spare their bench and their fans any anxious moments as it happened in their game against Equatorial Guinea.
Coach Dramani is not revealing his game plan for Sunday, but definitely the actors who got the results in Ethiopia are likely to be given the first chance again and all eyes will be on Naomi Anima, who won the hearts of Kumasi fans in her stand out performance against Equatorial Guinea. Hopefully, she will not disappoint against Ethiopia.
In the other qualifying match, Nigeria face an anxious time against South Africa in the return leg in Johannesburg tomorrow. The Nigerians won 2-1 in the first leg in Abuja but it could be a dicey result against the South Africans who will be playing at home.
