The club has divested its slot to an undisclosed new owner, who will participate in the Access Bank Division One League next season under a different name.

Renowned for its unrivalled record in talent production, Liberty played a pivotal role in unearthing and developing renowned stars such as Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Derek Boateng, Asamoah Gyan, among others.

Now, the club aims to return to its roots by concentrating on the development of emerging talents, a hallmark of its joint management under the late Alhaji Sly Tetteh and partner Felix Ansong, with celebrated coaches Cecil Jones Attuquayefio and Sellas Tetteh.

In a statement released yesterday, the club's CEO, Linda Ansong, clarified that Liberty Professionals had not been sold but had instead transformed its model and operations to refocus on the original concept of developing top talents.

"It [Liberty] is still in existence under the ownership of its remaining founder, Felix Ansong. The club has rather divested its slot to compete in the Division One League."

The club, continuing its participation within the Ghana Football Association pyramid, intends to re-establish its reputation as top developer of football talents.

Having initially started as an academy, Liberty Professionals aims to revert to its storied history and reputation as a premier destination for nurturing and shaping the next generation of Ghanaian football talents.

The statement revealed that John Oppong Welbeck, a well-recognised figure in local football circles, would spearhead the new regime and play a pivotal role as the talent trainer in the club's renewed focus of grooming future stars.
