Fire guts Ampem Darkoa hostel facility in Techiman [VIDEO]

The hostel that accommodates Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa, in Techiman has been destroyed by fire.

The unfortunate incident which happened Friday afternoon [Dec 22, 2023], destroyed belongings of the players who are permanently camped at the hostel while the season is on.

The facility, is attached to the Palace of the Techiman Mawerehene, Nana Ofosu Gyeabour, who is also the President of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Confirming the incident to Graphic Online, a director of the club, Nana Ampem Darkoa said efforts to get the Fire Service to help put out the fire was futile as the officers could not be reached.

She said no one was hurt as the incident occurred while the players were at training.

"However, the building is completely razed down," she said.
