The national U-23 team have been in Egypt since June 12 preparing for the TotalEnergies U-23 African Cup of Nations which kicks off on Saturday in Morocco.
Emmanuel Yeboah scored a hat-trick and Emmanuel Appau added his name to the scoresheet as Coach Ibrahim Tanko's charges run riot at the Zamalek Sports Complex in Cairo.

Ghana shot into the lead just after 10 minutes with Yeboah opening the floodgates as the Egyptian side, featuring some first team and reserve team players, quickly rallied back and got the equalizing goal five minutes later.

Yeboah scored again in the 25th minute to restore Ghana’s lead and completed his hat-trick in the 40th minute from a rebounder.
Appau made it 4-1 for Ghana before the half-time break.

Goalkeeper Jordan Amissah pulled off a spectacular save after Zamalek were awarded a penalty just before the break.
Despite dominating the game in the second half, Ghana failed to find the back of the net as Coach Tanko introduced Aziz Dari and Poku Waki in the second half.

The Meteors will leave their training base in Cairo for the Moroccan city of Rabat on Wednesday to continue their preparations for the continental competition.
Ghana will face Congo in their opening group match on Sunday, June 25 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

They then take on hosts Morocco in the second Group A game at the same venue before wrapping it up with a clash against Guinea at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
Two best teams from Group A and B will advance to the semifinals of the competition with the winner of the tournament and the two runners-up qualifying to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
