Former champions Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal both progressed to the second round of Wimbledon yesterday.
Seven-time winner Federer came through his opener at SW19 with a comfortable 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 over Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi.
Federer, who is gunning for a record eighth title, brushed aside an opponent who is yet to win a grand slam match after 13 appearances at majors.
