Police visit NDC, NPP offices to enhance ties

The Accra Regional Police Commander, Commissioner of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, on Tuesday visited the Greater Accra Regional offices of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The visit, the first of its kind, was aimed at enhancing the partnership between the police and the political parties to ensure peaceful election in November during the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Objective

During his interaction with some executive members of the parties at the separate meetings, Dr Akuffo Dampare explained that the initiative was part of a series of stakeholders’ engagements to win the confidence of the public.

He said the visit was a clear indication that the police was doing everything to maintain the peace in the country before, during and after election.
