Hearts of Oak Iconic Group congratulates IGP Yohuno
The National Membership of the Iconic Group of Accra Hearts of Oak has extended heartfelt congratulations to Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who was recently appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Ghana.
Mohammed Alhassan, the coordinator of the group, expressed immense pride in the elevation of Yohuno, who has been a dedicated member of the Iconic Group since 1985.
Alhassan revealed that Yohuno was the fifth card-bearing member of the group to achieve such a prestigious position, and the group was deeply grateful for his achievement.
"We are truly proud of his elevation and it brings us great joy to see one of our own rise to such an important role," Alhassan stated.

Describing the IGP as someone who had always had Accra Hearts of Oak at heart, Alhassan emphasised that the group was particularly happy about Yohuno's success, considering his extensive involvement in the club’s activities over the years.
"We know him as a man with a deep connection with Hearts of Oak, and we are thrilled that he has reached this important milestone in his career," he added.
Alhassan, who was accompanied by other prominent members of the Iconic Group, including the incoming Chairman of the National Chapters Committee (NCC), John Vanderpuye, also commended Yohuno for embodying the "Never Say Die" spirit of Hearts of Oak. "Despite the many challenges he encountered, the IGP has persevered and reached the highest office in the police force," Alhassan remarked.
As a football enthusiast, Alhassan appealed to the new IGP to leverage his office to improve security in Ghana's Premier League and other football activities across the country.
