John Mahama installed Nkosuohene of Apesika

The flag-bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, has been installed as the Nkosuohene (Development Chief) of the Apesika Traditional Area in the Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East Region.

The former President is currently touring the Bono East Region as part of his campaign tour.

Under the stool name Nana Beyeman Kwame Ababio I, Mr Mahama was taken through the customary rites by the Chief of Jema and Kyidomhene of the Nkoranza Traditional Council, Nana Amponsah Gyan II.

Nana Amponsah Gyan II explained that the NDC flag-bearer deserved to be honoured because he undertook massive development projects in the area when he was the President of Ghana.

Commendation

Speaking at a durbar held in honour of the former President, Nana Amponsah Gyan II lauded Mr Mahama for ensuring that every corner of the country benefitted from some form of development during his tenure as President.

He said development was the backbone of every progressive nation and, therefore, urged his people to vote for Mr Mahama to implement what he described as “the massive development” programme.

Development for all

For his part, former President Mahama expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and people of Apesika for the honour bestowed on him.

He said when elected as President in the December 7 general election, the next NDC government would complete all abandoned projects.

The former President said his policies such as the ‘Big Push”, the $10 billion accelerated development plan, would fix many of the infrastructure deficits in many sectors of the country to stimulate growth, jobs and development on a massive scale.

He said his vision was to implement inclusive and sustainable development that cut across all sectors and parts of the country.

His policies, he said, would develop a workable, sustainable and progressive economy that would benefit all and not just a few individuals.

He said his government would promote policies that would protect and promote indigenous businesses and not kill them.

Vote for NDC

The former President accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of failing the good people Ghana by taking the country towards a downwards turn.

He, therefore, urged the electorate to reject President Akufo-Addo and the NPP and vote massively for the NDC to enable the party to implement good policies that would propel the country to greater heights.
