NPP National Women Organiser constructs polyclinic for Takrowase
The National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfuah, with support from Village Girl Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has constructed a 60-bed polyclinic for her glorious hometown, Akyem Takrowase near Kade in the Eastern Region.
The health facility comprises consulting rooms, male, female, children’s, labour, emergency, casualty, maternity and VIP wards, operating theatre, pharmacy, X-Ray and outpatients departments, records office, toilets and baths.
The facility is also connected to electricity and potable water and the rooms equipped with air conditioners and ceiling fans.
At the inauguration of the facility last Thursday, Madam Gyamfuah said she mobilised some resources and sought financial support from the Village Girl Foundation to provide the polyclinic to replace the old one which could not adequately serve the fast-growing population in the community.

The Eastern Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Winfred Ofosu, who performed the inaugural ceremony, advised the health professionals at the facility to provide better health care delivery to the patients to justify the huge investment.
He said the Ministry of Health had granted accreditation to the health facility as a full-fledged polyclinic.
Dr Ofosu promised to provide more health professionals to work at the facility and therefore appealed to landlords to provide residential accommodation for them by charging them reasonable rents.
He, on behalf of the Ghana Health Service, commended Madam Gyamfuah for her generosity.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Ernest Yaw Kumi, was also grateful to Madam Gyamfuah for her commitment to the development of her community in particular and Ghana in general.
The chief of Takrowase, Osabarima Owusu Nketiah II, commended Madam Gyamfuah for her generosity and urged other affluent people in the area to take a cue from her to assist in the development of the community.
