Foot soldiers endorse Portuphy
Members of the National Foot Soldiers Association of Ghana (NAFSAG) have declared their support for Mr Kofi Portuphy, one of the contestants in the race for the National Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
They described Mr Portuphy as a listener and someone who appreciates the views of every member of the party.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic in Accra yesterday, the chairman and founder of the association, Mr William Kwasi Ahamazie, also known as Okpolu, said the reason behind the support was also the fact that Mr Portuphy believed in the welfare of every party member, adding, “Mr Portuphy’s philosophy is that when party members are successful, then the party is also successful”.
He said even though all the other four contestants were qualified to lead the party, Mr Portuphy had the skill and the initiative to retain the party in power as well as work to increase the membership of the party.

Mr Ahamazie cited the landmark election petition in which, he said, Mr Portupy played an instrumental role in putting together all documents relating to the pink sheets to help the party.
He, therefore, appealed to all members of the NDC, especially the delegates, to vote massively for Mr Portuphy for him to be able to plan a better future for the party.
“Know that he is a grass-roots man and when he gets the position he will make sure to satisfy every member at every level and have a better future for the party,” he said.
