37 Military Hospital receives medical supplies

The 37 Military Hospital has received medical supplies to support its healthcare objectives.

The items, valued at £95,000 were presented by Jacob’s Well Appeal Ghana (JWAG), a Christian charity organisation which provides humanitarian assistance and supports development projects in the country.

The donated items included medical disposables, hygiene products, drugs, medical books, textiles and food for medical purposes.

Essence of presentation

Handing over the items, the Country Director for JWAG, Ms Sandra Scantlebury, said the donation was part of JWAG’s desire to help improve healthcare in the country.

According to her, the organisation chose to donate the items to the 37 Military Hospital because of the huge role it played in the provision of healthcare in Ghana and the West African sub-region.

“We recognise the important work that you are doing and have found it necessary to support your activities,” she said.

The Commander of the 37 Military Hospital, Col. Ralph Ametepi, said the responsibilities of the hospital had expanded over the years, considering that the number of non-military personnel who patronised its services had risen substantially.

“In view of this, the hospital needs items and equipment that would support its activities. We are, therefore, grateful to JWAG for donating these items to us and hope for more support in the near future,” he added.
