SSNIT Director-General’s retirement marked with thanksgiving
The International Baptist Church has held a thanksgiving service for the safe and peaceful retirement of the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Dr Frank A. Odoom, in Accra last Sunday.
The congregation, including his family and friends, praised and worshipped God for guiding Dr Odoom to serve this country and humanity.
Having held a number of positions and served on boards, Dr Odoom retired in June, this year, after two years in office as the Director-General of SSNIT.
Outlining his achievement, the Head Pastor of the International Baptist Church, Reverend Francis Conong Oteng, said as the Director-General of SSNIT, Dr Odoome grew the SSNIT fund from GH¢2.34 billion to GH¢4.39 billion.

Also, he redefined the investment paradigm and created a corporate image for SSNIT.
As the chief executive for Quality Insurance Company Limited, from 2002 to 2010, he moved the business from less than one per cent market share to eight per cent share in seven years.
A citation presented to Dr Odoom by the church read: “Because of your hard work, academic qualification, commitment and faithfulness to duty, the late President of Ghana appointed you to the position of Director-General of SSNIT”.
Rev. Oteng urged the congregation to imitate Dr Odoom’s humility in order to succeed. He added that retirement should be seen as another way to utilise the experience one had gained and impact one’s society with the experience acquired.
Dr Odoom attributed his success in life to the Almighty God and thanked him for his guidance and strength throughout his service to the country and humanity. He urged the youth to be humble and work hard wherever they found themselves and advised that every work should be done with the intention of contributing one’s quota to the nation’s development.
