A transport owner and philanthropist, Mr Yaw Amponsah-Marfo, also known as “Ewiase”, has donated food items, a cow and a 23-seater Sprinter Benz bus, all valued at GH¢84,600, to the Mampong Babies Home at a ceremony in Asante Mampong

The food items included 100 bottles of mineral water, 15 bags of rice, 10 boxes of Key soap, 10 cartons of Milo, five gallons of cooking oil, 10 cartons of toilet roll and 100 packets of  fruit drinks.

Making the presentation, Mr Amponsah-Marfo said he had resolved to visit the elderly in their homes and assist them to meet some of their needs.

He expressed the hope that the items would bring comfort to the children.

He commended the management of the home for keeping the children and prayed that the Almighty God would reward them for their kindness.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mampong, Mr Mohammed Kofi Abuasu, expressed appreciation to Mr Amponsah-Marfo for his kindness.

The Bishop of the Mampong Diocese of the Anglican Church, the Rt Rev. Dr Kobina Ben-Smith, also commended Mr  Amponsah-Marfo for his self-sacrificing spirit.

In her welcome address, Ms Margaret Addai, the Superintendent of the home, said the donation had been made at a good time when the home needed the items.
