Construction of Ejisu High Court begins
The construction of a two-storey complex for a High Court at Ejisu in the Ejisu/Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region has begun. When completed, the court is expected to ease pressure on the Kumasi and Mampong High Courts.
The first phase of the project is estimated at GH¢506,000.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, the Chief Executive of the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Assembly, Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, said justice delivery was important in the nation’s effort to ensure accelerated development.
The project is being funded from the Urban Development Grant.
He said the construction of a modern high court at Ejisu followed the approval given by Her Ladyship Chief Justice Mrs Justice Georgina Wood to enhance justice delivery in the Ashanti Region.
The Omanhene of the Ejisu Traditional Area, Nana Afranie Okese IV, lauded the efforts of the assembly for promoting justice in the municipality.
