New structure at Flagstaff House is state property
The Office of the President has dismissed allegations that the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, had constructed a private warehouse in the precincts of the Flagstaff House.
A statement issued by the Media Office of the Flagstff House in Accra yesterday, described the allegation, which originated from the Minority in Parliament and carried in a section of the media as “mischievous.”
“The attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to a mischievous claim being circulated by Minority Members of Parliament through some media houses that the First Lady has constructed a private warehouse within the precincts of the Flagstaff House-the seat of government.
“There cannot be, and there has not been any private construction within the Presidential Household,” the statement said.
Explaining what was being referred to as a warehouse, the statement said, it is “actually a storehouse for the use of the Office of the President, and constructed by the state.”
