Melcom Ghana donates food items to National Chief Imam

Melcom Ghana, as part of its  commitment to social responsibility and community support, has donated a variety of food items to the Office of the National Chief Imam of Ghana to support the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donated items included 1,000 tins of milk powder, 1,000 packs of sugar, 300 bags of rice, 500 packs of spaghetti, 1,000 bottles of sparkling white grape and 500 pieces of chicken.

In addition to the food supplies, Melcom also provided 1,000 Iftar meals to assist the Chief Imam’s efforts in supporting the less privileged during Ramadan.

Leading the donation were key Melcom executives, including the Executive Director,  Madam Sonya Sadhwani, Chief Operating Officer, Ashok Nair, Chief Information Officer, Zahed Saddiqui and the Head of Marketing, Nana Poku A. Kyei.

Speaking on the donation, Head of Marketing for Melcom Ghana, emphasised that the initiative was the company’s way of expressing gratitude to the Muslim community for being a valued part of the Melcom family.

“For us, it is essential to use this time to give back to society and extend our blessings to those around us. As part of our annual celebrations, Ramadan holds great significance, and this year, we wanted to celebrate with the National Chief Imam and the Muslim community.

In addition to this donation, we will be reaching out to other communities as well,” Nana Kyei said.

Expressing his gratitude, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, commended Melcom’s generosity and unwavering commitment to community support, offering a special prayer for the organization’s continued success.
