Live up to your responsibilities. Ebo Whyte urges Police

Police personnel have been urged to live up to their responsibilities by offering their best to the public.

A renowned motivational speaker and playwright, Mr Ebo Whyte, who gave the advice, said hardworking personnel stood to be rewarded in the long run.

“Life or society will reward you when you are paid less for the work you do, and when you are paid more than you deserve, life will take it from you in the form of ill-health and other problems.

“When you contribute your best to society by serving your uniform and Ghana well, I promise you will never be in need,” Mr Whyte intimated.

He was speaking during the 2015 West African Security Services Association (WASSA) end-of-year get-together for personnel of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.

Legacy

Mr Whyte further charged the personnel to strive to leave a legacy which would inspire others and also bring honour to the police profession.

He indicated how serving society well could translate into good health and opportunities.

He later donated 60 copies of his monthly Roverman Report to the Police Command to be distributed to personnel of the service.

Event

The WASSA is an annual get-together aimed at bringing both senior and junior police officers together to socialise.

The event, which is marked by merrymaking, is also used to take stock and re-strategise for the following year.

Commendation

The Accra Regional Police Commander, Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare, commended the personnel for their hard work and dedication to service.

He described 2015 as an eventful year, especially in the areas of crime combat and the protection of lives and properties.

On the upcoming general election, he advised the youth not to engage in any acts of violence but rather be ambassadors of peace.
