Deloitte and Touche refurbishes Police Hospital Children’s Ward
Deloitte and Touche Ghana, a financial institution, has refurbished the Children’s Ward at the Police Hospital in Accra at the cost of GH¢30,000.
At a ceremony during which the refurbished ward was handed over to the hospital, Mr Anthony Oppong, Managing Partner of Deloitte and Touche, said patients admitted to the ward would now enjoy improved facilities.
The refurbishment was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, he said.
Handing over the ward, Mr Oppong said the staff of the company worldwide assisted society in various ways annually. “It is our duty to give support in Ghana. We will continue to support the children’s ward till the hospital grows bigger and better,’’ he said.
The Public Relations Officer of the Police Hospital, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng, commended the company for the refurbishment.
ASP Obeng said even though the hospital was considered a big one and with adequate facilities, it had many problems, including the need for expansion.
She, therefore, appealed to organisations, philanthropists and public-spirited individuals to emulate what the company had done and come to their aid to help rehabilitate the dilapidated structures of the hospital.
