Ahmadi leader addresses women at 51 Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention
The worldwide leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has delivered a message of peace and empowerment to women of the Islamic faith, at the 51st Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention (Jalsa Salana) which entered its second day in Alton Hampshire in the United Kingdom (UK) last Saturday.
Addressing about 15,000 Ahmadi women from across the world, who attended the convention, the leader spoke highly of women in general and applauded them for the critical role they were playing in world affairs.
Awards
His Holiness Ahmad presented awards to some female Ahmadi students for excelling academically in the various universities in the UK.
In his special message to the thousands of women gathered, His Holiness Ahmad underscored the need for men and women alike to act in righteousness and be mindful of God’s guidance, only then could they spend life as a true believer of Islam.
“You must raise your children in a proper manner so that they can benefit from your prayers in the future. If they are not trained they will destroy the very wealth you leave behind,” he said.
More than 30,000 Ahmadi Muslims from across the world congregated in the Alton Hampshire countryside to listen to His Holiness Masroor Ahmad’s message of hope and encouragement.
The purpose of the three-day international gathering was to promote global peace and justice.
Shun materialism
The spiritual head who spoke against the crave for material things at the expense of spiritual growth and development said “worldly people focus on materialism but believers aim to succeed in this world and the hereafter”.
He asked Islamic women to give precedence to their spirituality than worldly gains and that it behoved the Ahmadi Muslim women to make their faith a priority.
His Holiness Ahmad further entreated the women to follow the teachings and guidance of the Holy Quran to send examples to their children saying “if all mothers truly understand the true teachings of Islam then their children would forever be blessed”.
