
52 SHS students in Accra for 2025 President's Independence Day Awards
Fifty-two students, selected from various Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country, have gathered in Accra for the 2025 President's Independence Day Awards.
The annual event, sponsored by Nestlé Ghana Limited, recognizes and rewards exceptional young students aged 14 to 19 from across the regions.
The 52 awardees include 32 students from public schools, 16 from private schools, and four students with hearing and visual impairments.
They were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Ahead of the awards ceremony, set for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre, the students visited the presidency and the Ministry of Education on Monday, March 3.

The students will also visit the Nestlé Ghana Limited factory in Tema and the University of Ghana, Legon campus on Tuesday, March 4.
Nestlé Ghana Limited’s Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Mrs Deborah Kwablah, emphasized the importance of inspiring students to work hard academically and become responsible adults.
She highlighted that education provides equal opportunities and is the most effective way to transform both individuals and nations, which is why Nestlé Ghana remains committed to supporting the education sector.
As in previous years, each awardee will receive a plaque, certificate, a laptop and a full year’s supply of Nestlé products.
