Learning skills to showcase ‘invention and innovation’ at 5th Science fair on May 25
The Adjiringanor Branch of the Learning Skills International School (LSIS) will host the fifth edition of its annual science fair at its premises in Accra.
Scheduled to take place on Saturday May 25, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with LSIS students as they present class and individual experiments and inventions from the following categories; Communications, Transportation, Space, and Medicine, with a strong focus on using robotics to solve problems within these fields.
A statement issued by the school ahead of the fair on May 16 quoted the Head of the School, Dr Yvonne Young saying “LSIS/Adjiringanor maintains an unwavering commitment to remaining in the forefront of educational excellence. We ensure that our students are globally competent and well prepared to succeed in tomorrow’s world.”
She added that their students began learning coding and engineering while working with Robots at the age of five and understood how they functioned to make lives easier.
“They will be some of the youngest participants in the Pan-African Robotics Competition which will be held in Accra in July this year,” she said.
She stressed that Learning Skills International School was nurturing a generation of problem solvers who are not satisfied with waiting to address Ghana’s challenges in the future, but have already begun to create solutions now.”
The science fair will be held on the school’s premises in Adjiringanor, from 9AM to 2PM.
