Use IT positively

Crystalline International School (CIS), has held its second graduation ceremony with a call on pupils to use information technology (IT) positively to influence their education.

The Head Pastor of the Tema Golf City branch of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Rev. Lawrence Kusair Josiah, who made the call, observed that pupils in basic schools had joined the bandwagon of people using technology to commit crimes such as Internet fraud while others had cultivated the habit of watching pornographic material on the Internet.

The graduation was on the theme: ‘The role of technology in today’s classroom’, saw graduands from Kindergarten Two, Basic Three, Basic Six and JHS Three receiving certificates.

Guests were entertained with poetry recitals in French, choreography, display by the cadet corps and a drama entitled The need for experience.

Rev. Josiah was of the view that technology had accelerated development of the advanced countries, and as future leaders, “you can also take advantage of that to make a change in your community.”

“Strive to be responsible citizens while in your formative years because, the future of Ghana rests on your shoulders,” he said.

Rev. Josiah, who was full of commendation for the female students of the school for wining majority of the awards, tasked them not to rest on their oars.

“Study hard and be determined to become a change agent in your various communities,” he said.

The Proprietor of the school, Mr Obed Denutsui, called on parents not to neglect the responsibility of disciplining their children at home when they go wrong.

He lamented at the seemingly failure of parents to instil discipline in their children.

“Training a child with the highest moral standards ought to be a shared responsibility between parents and teachers,” he said.
