Standfast Emmathess Basic School gets Fire Cadet Corps

The first Fire Service Cadet Corps in the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) has been inaugurated at the Standfast Emmathess Basic School at Teshie Tsuibleoo, a suburb of Accra.

At the inauguration of the cadet corps, the Municipal Fire Commander at the LEKMA Fire Station, Divisional Officer (DOIII) Theophilus Dangbe, asked the public to desist from acts that were likely to cause fire outbreaks.

DOIII Dangbe urged the pupils to adhere to basic fire safety measures in their homes and added that the increasing domestic fire outbreaks and their attendant fatalities in some parts of the country should be a wake-up call to all to abide by safety measures.

"Public education campaigns are critical and the service will continue to educate the public to help reduce the menace, especially in homes and public places," he added.
