With the 10 delegates vying for the conveted title of Miss Malaika 2013 under one roof with Eazzy, Becca, Efya and Raquel as the artistes billed to perform on the night, the finals could aptly be described as a “girls girls” affair.

The delegates for the final are Twumwaa, Selma, Lois, Lordina, Yoda, Abigail, Naa Oyoe, Priscilla, Aisha and Betty.

According to a statement from Charterhouse, organisers of the pageant, already, 22-year-old Betty Afrifa and Lois Nana Akua Dapaah have picked the best Cultural Night and the Best Design and Best Lux Commercial respectively. Naa Oyoe also won the Best Cultural Display for her naming ceremony rites of the Gas.

The statement also said the delegates who recently returned from their recreational trip to South Africa to wean themselves off the pressure and  reflect on their progress in the competition are already back to action as they rehearse feverishly for the finals. From left to right: Naa Oye, Priscilla, Selma, Twumwaa and Yoda

“Apart from the contestants who are working hard to display beauty with brains on the night, the skills of the god sisters in the persons of TV presenter and host, Joselyn Dumas, fashionista and lawyer, Sandra Ankobiah and Hamamat, a former Miss Malaika queen will definitely come to bear on the show as they give out their last minute “apo” for the D-day.

“Unlike Joselyn and Sandra whose groups of Team Joselyn and Queens respectively have their initial four in the finals, the Ohemaa group of Hamamat would have to work harder as they have already lost a member, Eugenia who was evicted last week’, it said.

This year’s Miss Malaika is sponsored by Lux, Rana Motors, ATL Fabrics, Lydia Female Contraceptives, Simbins Furniture, Crown Paints, Sandra Ice Cream and Kwaku David Photography.

Miss Malaika is a Gh One initiative with support from Charter House.
