Asuoden wins 'Show Your Talent' contest
It was a tough decision for the judges and patrons at the Arts Centre in Accra to decide on the winner of the maiden edition of the Show Your Talent competition.
The Show Your Talent event was organised by Double R Event to create a platform for wannabe stars to showcase their talents in music as well as poetry and comedy.
A majority of the 45 contestants, including first place winner Asuoden, performed music.
The three- hour show saw contestants like Black and White group, Asante Jay, Corby Rhymes, Allowyne, Narrow, Ellie, Nix Max, Asuoden and Maxi take to the stage to thrill the audience.
After an impressive rap performance, it was Asuoden who wowed the judges and the patrons with his stagecraft to emerge winner. He took home a recording contract worth Ghc 2000, a certificate and products from Zesta Tea.
The first runner-up was Corby Rhymez, real name Appau Ransford. He received souvenirs from the organisers, Zesta Tea products and a certificate of participation.
The Crystal Dancers took the third position and they also walked away with products from Zesta Tea and a certificate.
Speaking to Showbiz after the event , the show co-ordinator, King Wellington expressed delight at the success of the programme.
He said he was particularly happy about the number of participants that turned out to compete. According to him, though the show went well, there was still room for improvement and he promised a better event next year.
“Other wannabe stars can wait patiently for next year to participate in the only talent show that gives equal opportunities to every contestant because no one needs any SMS voting. The audience decides who deserves to carry the day,” Wellington said.
