Zen petroleum, Perseus Mining partner to supply petroleum products to Edikan Gold Mine
Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (Perseus), has partnered Zen Petroleum Limited (Zen) for the supply of diesel fuel and other petroleum products to its Edikan Gold Mine.
The contract which is for an initial three year term could be extended by another two years depending on satisfactory performance.
Perseus Mining settled on Zen after competitive bidding that involved other oil marketing companies.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Perseus, Mr Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI, speaking at the contract signing ceremony in Accra, said it was very delighted to have Zen as a partner in the development of the Edikan Gold Mine.

“The company is strategically promoting the use of the services of competent Ghanaian companies in its operations. We therefore welcome Zen to Perseus and we believe Zen will deliver quality products safely to the Edikan Gold Mine,” he said.
He said the partnership with Zen was another manifestation of Perseus’ interest in providing business opportunities to indigenous Ghanaian companies.
“In addition to Zen, there are currently eight Ghanaian companies providing various services including mining and haulage of materials, construction of a tailing storage facility. Currently, Perseus is constructing a complete township to resettle community members who have been affected by mining operations of the company. All the contractors for this project are indigenous Ghanaian companies providing employment for the youth in the community, he added.
The Managing Director of Zen Petroleum Limited, Mr William Tewiah, said Zen was also delighted to add Perseus to it’s growing list of mining clients and strongly believed this partnership would be mutually beneficial for both parties.
Mr Tewiah assured the chairman of the Board of Directors that Zen would live up to its reputation as a reliable business partner.
He said the company commenced its operations in 2010 and currently supplies and manages on consignment, petroleum products to several mining companies in Ghana and Mali with plans to open up in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
