
Microfinance company holds health walk
The Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) has organised a health and fitness walk in Accra.
Dubbed the “uncommon power walk” the health and fitness walk was aimed at sensitising customers to live a healthy lifestyle in order to enjoy their wealth.
Briefing the media, the Managing Director of CCML, Mrs Naa Odey Asante, said that the health walk which was the on the theme “Your health is your wealth”, explained that wealth and health went hand in hand to make life comfortable and therefore customers had to live right in both aspects.
Mrs Asante added that although it was a financial company, it deemed it a responsibility to see to it that its customers were healthy enough to continue working, saving and contributing their quota to national development.
“We are in an era where lifestyle diseases are increasing every day. Some of these diseases can reduce drastically if we engage in activities such as this,” she added.

The Head of Human Resources of CCML, Mr Eric Tachie Yeboah, said it was important for its staff to stay healthy in order to continuing providing efficient and effective services to its customers thus their involvement in the health walk.
“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body,” he added.
Mr Yeboah said there was the need to institutionalise the health walk, hence it had decided to organise such walks every quarter.
He expressed his appreciation to the participants and staff and advised that the exercise should not be a nine day wonder.
Organisers
The function was organised in collaboration with the Nationwide Mutual Health Care under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mrs Nancy Ampah.
The Nationwide Mutual Health Care also provided free medical screening for all the participants, Mrs Ampah said.
She said the company had a longstanding relationship with the CCML through the provision of occupational health and safety tips, noting that it would do more to sustain the relationship.
