
Women’s Premier League Week 2: Stellar performances garner Nasco Player of the Match Awards
The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League saw thrilling matchups over the weekend as teams from both the Southern and Northern Zones showcased remarkable skill and determination.
While each squad battled for victory, standout players earned the prestigious Nasco Woman of the Match title, taking home exciting prizes, including a Nasco blender and stand stove.
In the Southern Zone, Mercy Attobra was a powerhouse for Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies, netting a hat-trick in their commanding 4-0 win over Berry Ladies, a feat that earned her the Nasco Woman of the Match title.
Meanwhile, Belinda Nyarko of Epiphany Warriors FC shone brightly, leading her team to a historic first-ever Premier League win, defeating Faith Ladies 2-0. Nyarko’s stellar performance secured her the Nasco accolade.

Victoria W. Teye from Police Ladies also delivered an impressive display, helping her team overpower Lady Strikers in a 4-0 triumph. For her efforts, Teye was named Nasco Woman of the Match. In another close match, Esther Yeboah of Army Ladies led her team to a 2-0 victory over Soccer Intellectuals, a standout performance that earned her the award as well. Finally, Laudina Osei scored the decisive goal in Jojina Ladies’ narrow 1-0 victory over Hafixax Ladies, securing her Nasco recognition.
In the Northern Zone, Mohammed Wasiima from Northern Ladies played a pivotal role in her team’s hard-fought 1-0 win against FC Savanna, earning her the Nasco Woman of the Match. Barkisu Azaare from Kumasi Sports Academy put on an incredible show in their 3-1 victory over Shaun’s Supreme Ladies, securing her award with a standout performance.
Sarah Nyarkoa of Tamale Super Ladies fought valiantly in a challenging match against Dreamz Ladies. Though her team fell 3-0, Nyarkoa’s efforts did not go unnoticed, as she was named Nasco Woman of the Match. Meanwhile, Deborah Kuruwaa led Fosu Royal Ladies to a solid 2-0 victory over Shung Shining Ladies, winning the Nasco title for her impressive display. Lastly, Mary Amponsah of Prisons Ladies was recognized for her remarkable performance despite a 2-0 loss to Ampoh Darkoa Ladies.
