Kotoko stars head to Aduana
Aduana Stars have made a big splash in the player transfer market after grabbing two former Kumasi Asante Kotoko top stars Richard Mpong and Yahya Mohammed, among some other notable stars, ahead of the coming season.
The Dormaa-Ahenkro side finished in third place (after the restoration of Kotoko’s six points on appeal) in the First Capital Plus Plus Premier League and are strengthening their squad ahead of the next football season.
The CEO of the club, Albert Commey Aryeetey, confirmed to the Graphic Sports yesterday that Aduana had concluded deals with Mpong, who was placed on transfer by the Porcupine Warriors, and dreadlocks star Mohammed, who fell out with Kotoko after abandoning them last season for Ittihad Tripoli of Libya. He returned as a free agent following the termination of his contract with the Libyan side.
Mpong, one of seven players released by Kotoko at the end of the just-ended season, has joined Aduana on a two-year deal, alongside BA United defender Anokye Badu.
Officials of Aduana further disclosed to the Graphic Sports that the club were still in negotiations with some unnamed clubs over the release of some of their targeted players whose deals could be sealed by the close of next week.
