Milo heads for Mauritania?

Former Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac, is in line for the vacant head coach job for Mauritania. The Serbian has been included in a shortlist of four  for consideration for the top job.

A source told GNA Sports that the coach, who had also applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching  job, is among the four the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (FFRIM) settled on  last Sunday.

Milo, as he is affectionately called, made the list alongside former French midfielder, Corentin Martins, Sebastien Lechantre and Pierre Lechantre, who guided Cameroon to the 2000 African Cup of Nations glory.

Rajevac must beat competition from the trio to replace former trainer, Patrice Neveu, who was shown the exit following Mauritania’s inability to go past Uganda in the preliminary rounds of the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers.

According to the source, the federation is expected to name Neveu’s successor on Monday, September 29. 

Rejavac took Ghana to the finals of the Angola 2010 Africa Cup of Nations before finishing as quarter- finalist at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa later that year.
