‘Nkwaseasɛm’ plops at NPP headquarters (Audio)
Kwadjo Opare-Hammond, until recently director of finance and administration of the New Patriotic Party, is usually calculated and courteous.
On Tuesday however, he appeared overwhelmed by the frustrating see-saw that has divided the front of the party leadership and also led to fisticuffs between factions, and he let go an uncharacteristic retort – “nkwaseasɛm” (to wit: stupidity) directed at the party’s chairman and general secretary, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong respectively.
Indeed Opare Hammond had to restrain himself thereafter from letting go another shot, after his host on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme confronted him on Tuesday with claims by the two embattled party executives that he had been removed from his post as a result of financial impropriety.
It was the first time he was being told of the alleged offence and for which the pair want him out of the party administration, he submitted, and added that his accusers were looking for non-existing evidence to pin on him after they realised his removal from office was illegal.
He lashed at them, saying he had heard it before – that the pair were empty barrels – but was beginning to believe their new status.
