NDC greets Ghanaian media on Press Day

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its warm felicitation to journalists and other media practitioners in Ghana on the  occasion of world press day. “We associate with the Ghanaian media on this auspicious day, particularly with the theme for the celebration: ‘Development Journalism, Media Safety and Integrity’ as it touches on professionalism, safety and security of the hard-working media personnel of this country,” the party stated.

In a statement signed by Mr James Asante, the Director of Communication of the party, it said that the NDC believed that the Ghanaian press had not relented in  their sacrifices and selflessness towards their watchdog responsibilities despite challenges confronting the media industry. 

It said that “over the years you have worked so hard as partners in building the country’s democratic process.”

It further encouraged the media, especially journalists, not only to adhere to ethics of their profession but also respond to their core duties and responsibilities of complying with basic principles of the media profession by ensuring fairness, balancing their stories and putting audience first in all their works.
