The vehicles caught fire after the collision as an electric pole fell with the electric wires falling on one of the vehicles and sparking fire.

The accident involved a Honda Acura saloon vehicle and a Jaguar.

It happened near the Omama Shop at East Legon.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service who responded to the distress call were able to identify two of the accident victims as females.

The two people who were burnt to death were occupants of the Acura vehicle while the four other occupants of the Jaguar were rushed to the hospital.

The flames from the pole rapidly spread, engulfing the two vehicles and leaving the occupants with no means of escape.
