Two kids drown in well

Two kids, aged two and three years residing at Osei-Kofi-Akuraa, near Adomfe in the Asante-Akim South District, died shortly after being rescued from a well.

Alima Abubakar and Jessica Dedaa were playing with one other child, Ama Amina, 3, near the well when they accidentally fell into it.

Rescuers managed to pull them out and rushed them to the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital for medical care but they could not survive.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Samuel Sandow Latebu, the District Commander, who confirmed the tragic incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said their bodies had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

He urged parents to give more protection to their children and ensure that they are not exposed to danger.
