Trader involved in fraudulent land deal
An accused, Nii Odarlai Quashie, standing trial for an alleged fraudulent land transaction, has promised the court that he will pay a debt of GH¢12,000.00 he owes at the end of June.
The Prosecutor, District Superintendent of Police Patrick Morkeh, told the Amasaman Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Samuel Boakye-Yiadom, that the complainant, Madam Jayne Boahene, a trader who resides at Ashongman near Accra, contracted Quashie to help her buy five plots of land situated around Amasaman in July 2012.
According to DSP Morkeh, Quashie, a trader who lives at Nsakina near Amasaman, claimed to have a parcel of land situated at Nsakina and, therefore, offered some for sale.
Quashie, the prosecutor stated, demanded that payment be made in cash and in kind.
DPS Morkeh said Quashie collected GH¢10,000 and a Nissan Sentra car number GR 7268-11 valued at GH¢12,000 from Madam Boahene and led her to the said land belonging to Adecopah Farms and instructed her to start developing it.

DSP Morkeh said Quashie appeared later and managed to refund GH¢4,000.00 to Madam Boahene.
Adecopah farms started working on the land forcing Madam Boahene to report the case to the police on January 24, 2014, and the Nissan Sentra saloon car was consequently intercepted at Amasaman and impounded.Quashie heard of the incident and reported himself to the police.
